Google Ads Results
Google Ads and other forms of digital advertising are fantastic marketing tools for so many reasons; however, one key benefit is that you can easily track the return on investment (ROI) in much more detail than other marketing tools, for example, traditional print ads.
Seeing a return on investment (ROI) in business is crucial. As a company director, if you were to invest in a new product i.e. new technology, product concept, branding, packaging, etc., you would want to see a return on your investment in the form of product sales. Investing in marketing should be no different. Tracking ROI on Google Ads can also be known as Return on Ad Spend (ROAS).
If you are considering Google Ads for your business, then it is important to have a clear strategy on what you want to achieve and how you will achieve it.
In this blog, we will explore Google Ads Campaign Strategy, Goals, and Conversions to explain the answer to the question ‘How long will it take to see results from Google Ads?’.

Let’s get into it…
Google Ad Goals
Google ads are a great way to get your brand in front of your target audience and at the top of Google searches. They will need to be managed and optimised continuously to ensure you are maximising your Google ad campaign to its full potential.
First, you need to identify what ‘seeing results’ means to you. Results can be very different for different businesses and even different campaigns. As part of your overall Google Ad strategy, you will want to set up google ad goals.
There are a number of objectives you can choose from when setting up a campaign, including sales, getting leads, traffic to your website, brand awareness and more.

Having a strategy and goal for what you want to achieve from Google Ads is the first step towards seeing results. If you have a clear plan, you can tailor your campaign objective, ad type, ad text, keywords, target location and more to work towards your goals.

Google Ad Conversions
Once you set up your Google Ad campaign, it is important to ensure that you have an effective way to measure if your campaign is achieving your goal. Constant measuring and optimising is what is going to make sure that your Google ad campaign is as effective as it can be, keep you ahead of your competition and stop you from wasting valuable marketing budget £££.
This can be done through conversions within your Google Ads account. Some examples of goals and conversions could be:
| Goal | KPI / Google Conversion |
|---|---|
| Sales | Confirmed sales on your website from Google Ads |
| Leads | Form completions on your website from Google Ads |
| Web Traffic | Clicks on your Google Ad to your website. |
| Brand Awareness | Impressions and Clicks on your Google Ad |
So, how long will it take to see results from Google ads?
Google Ads needs to go through an approval process from Google. Luckily, this is not a long process, and it typically takes a few hours. Once your ad is live, you can instantly see its performance i.e. number of impressions, clicks, conversions and so on.
There is a big difference between seeing the performance of Google ads vs. receiving the results you want.
If you have a Google Campaign running and you do not see the results you want e.g. you are not receiving leads or getting a lot of clicks, then you may need to look at the quality of your ad, keywords, landing pages and more to determine why.
We have seen so many businesses waste money on Google Ads that are not working for them (before coming to us, of course 😉).
If your ad campaign is fully optimised, targeting the right keywords and the right messaging with an optimal daily budget, then the results may still vary depending on your industry and product/service offering. Some products/services may be a more ‘considered’ purchase and therefore, it may take longer to see leads coming through or confirmed sales.
That is why you should never rely on Google Ads as a single marketing tool. Google Ads campaigns should be utilised as part of a fully integrated marketing strategy along with other marketing tools.

Eyelash Excellence had 45k new visitors to her website in a 6 month period.
So, are Google Ads results instant?
There are so many variables that affect the results of a Google Ad campaign. It is important to choose the right goal, conduct keyword research, choose the right ad format, set up conversions and fully optimise the entire campaign before you will start to see results. And remember, it should always be a part of the ‘bigger picture’ marketing strategy.
